Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to the personal data you give us when you ask to join the SkyLark waitlist, why we need it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

SkyLark is operated by Skylark Options (“we”, “us”). We decide how and why your personal data is used for the waitlist, which makes us the controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR; in Dutch, the AVG).

What this notice covers

It covers the waitlist only: the request access form on skylarkoptions.com, the confirmation and unsubscribe pages, and the emails we send you about the waitlist. It does not cover the SkyLark workbench that invited users sign in to.

What we collect

• Your email address.
• If you choose to answer them: whether you are an individual trader or part of a desk or firm, and whether you already have a Derive account.
• The version of this notice you agreed to (this one is privacy-2026-09-30).
• When you asked to join and when you confirmed your email address.
• The random codes behind the confirmation and unsubscribe links in our emails, so that those links work.

Your email address is needed to join. The two questions are optional, and “Prefer not to say” is always an answer.

What we don’t collect

We don’t store your IP address with your request. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking: its pages, fonts and images all come from skylarkoptions.com itself, and it loads nothing from anyone else.

Why we use it

Only to run the waitlist:

• to confirm that the email address is yours;
• to decide whom to invite, which a person does by hand, and to send you your invitation;
• to send you emails about your place on the waitlist.

We don’t use your data for marketing beyond that, we don’t sell it or share it for others’ purposes, and we don’t profile you or make automated decisions about you.

Our legal basis

Your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the box on the form and confirming your email address.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it: use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or email access@skylarkoptions.com. Withdrawing doesn’t affect what we did with your data before you withdrew.

How long we keep it

• If you don’t confirm your email address, your request is deleted after 30 days.
• If you confirm, we keep your request until you unsubscribe or until the waitlist closes, and then delete it.

Where it is processed, and by whom

• Our server and database. Your request is stored in our own database, on a server hosted by Hetzner in Germany.
• Email. We send and receive waitlist email through Proton Mail, provided by Proton AG in Switzerland. Proton processes your email address and the messages we exchange on our behalf. The European Commission recognises that Switzerland protects personal data adequately.

We don’t give your data to anyone else unless the law requires us to.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

• tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy (access);
• correct it (rectification);
• delete it (erasure);
• limit how we use it (restriction);
• give it to you, or to someone else, in a machine-readable format (portability);
• stop using it (objection).

Email access@skylarkoptions.com to use any of these rights. We may need to check that the request comes from the owner of the email address.

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority. In the Netherlands, that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens; you can also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live or work.

Changes to this notice

Each version of this notice has its own version string, shown at the top of this page, and we record which version you agreed to. If we change the notice, we will publish the new version here with a new version string.
